Study Abroad in Japan

Somewhere between the elegant formality of Japanese manners and the candid, between the sanitized shopping malls and the unexpected rural festivals, everyone finds their own vision of Japan. Whether you end up taking photos of a reproduction Eiffel Tower, surfing an indoor wave, or taking a nap in a capsule, you will do best to come with an open mind and be prepared for surprise.

Tea Ceremony – Today, the ceremony is used as a means of training concentration of spirit and of learning manners. There are several schools for this in Japan. Many hotels have a tea ceremony room.

Hot Springs – Japan has many volcanoes, and consequently many hot springs (Onsen). Locals like to spend holidays around the springs.

Kenrokuen – This garden in Kanazawa is known as one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan. It combines the six attributes that a garden should have: spaciousness, seclusion, human ingenuity, antiquity, water and panoramic views.

Nagano – Most popular ski resorts are located in the Chubu region and Hokkaido. Hakuba in Nagano is one of them (Chubu region). The 1998 Winter Olympics were held in Nagano.

Sumo Wrestling – The national sport of Japan. These tournaments are very popular events!

Tokyo Disneyland – Home of the "Jungle Cruise," "Space Mountain," and, of course, the "Pirates of the Caribbean."
