When you travel to Spain, you will be surrounded by magnificent works of architecture, painting and sculpture from all eras of the Iberian peninsula's history, from prehistoric caves to mind-boggling surrealist masterpieces of the 20th century. However, it is difficult to understand another culture's artistic productions in depth just by passing through as a tourist.
The Spanish & Art History Course is a great option for those who want to learn all about Spanish Art History and consequently acquire a greater understanding of the sights that surround them. We will reflect on some of Spain's most important trends and artistic representations in a variety of mediums and study the influence of the major civilizations that have passed through Spain: Roman, Moorish, Mudejar, Renaissance, Baroque, etc. We will also look at some of Spain’s most representative painters including Goya, Velasquez, Picasso, Miro and Dali.
The famed capital of Spain is a cosmopolitan city of unequaled culture and nightlife. With everything from world famous museums to high fashion shopping, one never runs out of things to do in Madrid. Conveniently located at a maximum of 5 hours by train or bus to any other city in Spain, its central location makes it an ideal home base for language travelers.

From its dazzling beaches to its ancient castles, Spain is a country as diverse as the cultures which have influenced its art, architecture, music and lifestyle. It is a land where cathedrals, roman ruins and arabic kashbas are interspersed with skyscrapers, where modern rock mixes with flamenco guitar, and night clubs compete with cozy "tapas" bars.
It is easy to travel, the climate is generally benign, people is friendly, relaxed and fun-loving.
And of course is the home contry of the second largest speaked language in the world: Spanish.
The more you travel through Spain, the more you get the differences between regions, you will realize how many Spains there are.

Note: Accommodation is available Sunday to Saturday, Saturday to Friday (Jordan and Egypt) or
Saturday to Saturday (Tokyo) - all other days will have extra charge
