Each city in Brazil has its own unique character ranging from the modern capital of Brasilia to the tourist capital of Rio de Janeiro to the port city of Maceio. Portuguese is the language spoken in Brazil. Amazon Jungle – Known for eco-tourism with many varieties of flora and fauna not found in other parts of the world. Many choose to take riverboat cruises or stay in jungle lodges to see the Amazon. Iguazu Falls – In dense jungle where Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina meet, these waterfalls may be the most spectacular on the planet. Carnival – Although Rio de Janeiro is best known for its Carnival celebration, most Brazilian towns do have spectacular festivities. The celebrations take place right before the start of Lent. |
