Antibes – One of the poshest and most famous of the Riviera resort towns. While there, visit the Musee. Cannes – Famed for its celebrities and film festival. French Vineyards – The Romans are credited with bringing the art of making wine to France, the French have taken it to a new level. Roquebrune – A picturesque fortified village with a a fairy tale castle, the Chateau de Roquebrune. Tour Eiffel – When Tour Eiffel was completed in 1889, it was the tallest building in the world at 300m. Notre-Dame – The Gothic majesty of the cathedral of Notre-Dame dominates both the Seine and the ecclesiastical history of Paris. Begun in 1160, it was finished a century and a half later. Musee du Louvre – Perhaps one of the greatest museums in the world and certainly one of the largest. If you were to spend five minutes looking at each object and work of art from the time the museum opened to the time it closed, it would take you almost a decade to see it all. |
