Madrid Summer Camp

From its dazzling beaches to its ancient castles, Spain is a country as diverse as the cultures which have influenced its art, architecture, music and lifestyle. It is a land where cathedrals, roman ruins and arabic kashbas are interspersed with skyscrapers, where modern rock mixes with flamenco guitar, and night clubs compete with cozy "tapas" bars.
It is easy to travel, the climate is generally benign, people is friendly, relaxed and fun-loving. And of course is the home contry of the second largest speaked language in the world: Spanish.

The more you travel through Spain, the more you get the differences between regions, you will realize how many Spains there are. From hot, dry, home of bullfigting and flamenco Andalucia, to fertile Cataluña, to the mainland Castilla to the mediterranean coast of Levante facing the laving on the Mediterranean sea.

Spain offers some of the world's most famous museums, resorts, and festivals, making it a unique and enchanting destination.

The famed capital of Spain is a cosmopolitan city of unequaled culture and nightlife. With everything from world-famous museums to high fashion shopping, you will never run out of things to do in Madrid. Conveniently located just 5 hours by train or bus to any other city in Spain, its central location makes it an ideal home base for language travelers.

Camp Program

Madrid Summer Camp is offered on the campus of the Francisco de Vitoria University, one of the most prestigious universities in Spain. The campus, which is spacious and characterized by trees and green spaces, is located just outside of Madrid on the Carretera Pozuelo - Majadahonda. The residence where the Madrid camp is held offers superb facilities to program participants, including student lounges, a common TV room, study rooms, a gym, a dining hall and a computer lab, where students can use the computers, go online and check their email. Furthermore, the university campus boasts excellent athletic facilities used during the camp sessions; highlights include a football field as well as tennis, paddle, basketball and multi-purpose courts.

Participants will stay in comfortable private rooms, all of which have a private bathroom. All meals are provided in the school’s dining halls and/or cafeteria.

Supervision

There will be a camp counselor available for every group of 10 to 12 students. The counselor will remain with the group on a 24 hour a day basis and will take care of any individual needs each participant may have.
The students under 15yo or those whose parents didn´t sign the "Permission to go our without supervision" are not able to leave the camp premises unaccompanied.

Program Notes

• Sunday arrival and Saturday departure
• Camp Uniform: please provide size on application form. This is optional; nevertheless, it is recommend by the program staff and will help limit the amount of luggage. The uniform consists of six t-shirts, one sweatshirt, two pairs of shorts, and one cap
• Optional activities: are limited to one per every 2 weeks and are based on availability
• Day Camp: does not include transportation to and from camp
• Day Camp bus: $265/2 weeks
