When considering overseas programs for kids & teenagers, supervision is an important matter.
Summer Camps - Programs are specifically designed for kids & teenagers. They are accommodated, take the classes and do most of the activities at campus. They have 100% supervision.
Teen Programs - Programs are designed for teenagers, they share the same campus as the adult program but all classes are separate from adult classes. Housing and meals are with host families. The families are chosen based on their willingness to enforce a curfew. The transportation to/from school and any free time between dinner and curfew is unsupervised. This program is addressed to responsible teenagers. The have 75% supervision.
Breaking The Rules
Unfortunately, no amount of supervision can stop a kid or teenager from breaking the rules if they are determined to do so.
Participants are expected to be courteous and respectful guests, to follow all school policies and families rules and to obey
all local laws. AmeriSpan does not tolerate teenage participants skipping school, missing scheduled activities, breaking curfew,
drinking alcohol, using drugs or engaging in sexual activities. There is no warning or a second chance. Any person who breaks
the rules, should expect to have their program terminated immediately and to be sent home at the expense of the participant
or the participant's family.
