San Cristobal Biological Station and Reserve Ecuador Volunteer Placement
The organization has worked to develop reforestation, habitat reconstruction and agroforestry activities utilizing native species throughout Ecuador. The station objective is to develop the technology to reconstruct native habitat in San Cristobal highlands, and to serve as a centre for similar projects.
Placement Tasks: Reforestation (collecting seeds, nursery work,..), Station maintenance (trail maintenance, sign elaboration for trails, help in the kitchen,..), Guided hike throughout reserve and/or nearby related areas (learn about biodiversity themes, natural history & ecology)
Work Schedule: 7:30-11:30 and 13:30-16:00, occasionally half day on Saturdays
Location of Placements: San Cristobal Island
Lodging: Cabins shared with other volunteers & researchers, 3 meals daily
All courses have a USD 100 registration fee (Not Refundable)
Note: Accommodation is available Sunday to Saturday, Saturday to Friday (Jordan and Egypt) or
Saturday to Saturday (Tokyo) - all other days will have extra charge
